CULTURAL GLOBAL CONNECTION IN THE WORLD LANGUAGE CLASSROOMS

The Hawai‘i Association of Language Teachers (HALT) is a group of language teachers from K-12 and higher education institutions in Hawai‘i who work to maintain the highest standards in teaching languages.

As a Fall Symposium Chair, I successfully created a cultural symposium with the collaboration of HALT officers. I invited professionals and experts to participate as guest speakers and presenters.

Afro-descendants: Connections and Meaningful Representation in Any Language Conference. The subject open ideas of  identifying connections between your target languages/cultures and Afro-descendants.

 Also, create entry points to target-language classroom discussions that include meaningful Afro-descendant representation.

Aiming for 90% Target Language use and making it comprehensible

I have the honor to present with a group of World Language leaders in this course providing educators with resources and strategies that includes: 

  • Share comprehensible input experiences.

  • Gain practice with circling technique.

  • Implement circling in Movie Talk
